Effective 29th March 2020, PR218 and PR219 between Auckland and Manila will operate from Terminal 2 instead of Terminal 1 at Manila Airport.

Terminal 2 is PAL’s exclusive terminal at Manila and handles most of PAL’s International and Domestic services.
The change back to Terminal 2 for the Auckland flights will offer shorter minimum connecting times and smoother connections for passengers.

The minimum connecting between PAL flights at Terminal 2 is:

International to International     55 minutes

International to Domestic            90 minutes

Domestic to International             60 minutes

Effective 31 March PAL flights between Auckland and Manila will depart and arrive at Terminal 1 at Manila International Airport.

The transfer to Terminal 1 will result in changes with minimum connecting times between the flights to/from Auckland flights and PAL flights operating to/from Terminals 2 and 3.

What you need to know when changing terminals

Arriving Manila from Auckland

International (T1) to International (T1) connections

Passengers will be through checked and will remain airside on arrival and proceed to the departure gate of the connecting flight.

International (T1) to International (T2) connections

Passengers will be through checked and bags will automatically be transferred. Passengers will need to change terminals as appropriate. Refer below for further information.

International (T1) to Domestic (T2/T3) connections

Bags will be through checked from Auckland to the passenger's final destination. On arrival at Manila passengers must clear immigration and then proceed to baggage claim to pick up their bag. The passenger should then proceed to the Customs area and pass their customs declaration form to a customs officer and then identify the Transfer sign by the nearby baggage carousel and hand their bag back to the Airport Baggage Services staff who will tag the bag as transfer and have the bag placed back on the carousel to be sent to the connecting flight. The passenger can then then make their way to the appropriate terminal for their connecting flight. (refer below for more information)

Departing Manila for Auckland

International T2 to International T1

Bags will be through checked however on arrival at T2, passenger must clear Immigration, claim their bag, clear customs, reload bag at Transfer carousel and then exit arrivals to transfer to T1.

NOTE - Passengers with this connection will need to clear Immigration/Customs before their onward connection

Domestic (T2/T3) to International (T1) connections

Passengers will be through checked and bags will be automatically transferred. Passengers will need to change terminals as appropriate. Refer below for further information.

Shuttle transfers between Terminals

Philippine Airlines operate their own dedicated inter-terminal transfer shuttle service between terminals. This service is provided by UBE shuttle but with clear PAL signage.

(Manila Airport also operates a regular inter-terminal transfer service as well)

Transfers are scheduled every 15 mins or as needed per flight.

From Terminal 1 (PR219 arriving from Auckland)

International connections departing T1 - on arrival proceed to next departure gate.

International connections departing T2 - On arrival proceed to the Transfer Desk/Lounge where passenger will wait for an airside shuttle bus to Terminal 2. Actual shuttle transfer time is 5-10 minutes and passengers will remain airside. Shuttles run every 15 minutes.

International to domestic connections T2/T3 - on arrival clear immigration, claim bags and clear customs. Reload baggage at designated transfer carousel (staff will assist) and go to the Transfer Service Counter where staff will direct the passengers to the next shuttle bus. Approximate travel time 10-15 minutes. Shuttle will operate every 15 minutes and operates from the curbside outside the terminal.

To Terminal 1 (PR218 departing to Auckland)

International connections from T2 from T1- on arrival claim bag, clear customs, reload bag at Transfer carousel and exit arrivals. Proceed to designated waiting area for PAL shuttle bus.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Passenger MUST have documentation which permits passenger to enter Philippines.

Domestic connections from T2 to T1 - if bags are through checked and Boarding Passes issued, proceed through domestic arrivals to the Waiting area (at the corner where the 2 terminal wings meet) for the PAL free shuttle bus to Terminal 1.

Domestic connections from T3 to T1 - if bags through checked and Boarding Passes issued, proceed to the Transfer Lounge for the PAL shuttle to T1.
